Let you guide on the wine road to discover the most famous vineyards of the Côtes du Rhône. The owners of well known wineries will gladly recount the secrets of their wine growing and a tour of the cellar, the vinification chais and ageing barrels, as well as a walk explanatory in the vineyards will be part of this experience. You will be warmly welcomed to taste their best vintages.
Cairanne : village of high Vaucluse among which 80 % of the population lives off the vine and wine. 1600 hectares of exploitation covers Cotes du Rhone appellation. Depending on the nature of the soil, it produces red wines structured or more flexible and fruity, white wines and rosés. The village is located in an exceptional setting, it offers a magnificent view on all the plain, vineyards, Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail.
Rasteau : common wine-
Seguret : magnificent village nestled on a rocky peak, listed as one of the “most
beautiful villages of France”. The vineyard of Séguret, sometimes situated at 350m
above sea-
Gigondas : small village with a great wine, 1200 hectares of vineyard is exploited by more than 200 wine growers. Wines showed their dedication in 1971, year of obtaining of the appellation "Gigondas", vintage wine of the Côtes du Rhône. Wines of Gigondas are rich, powerful and colored, and offer deep red robes.
Vacqueyras : symbolic village producing one of three vintage wines of the Côtes du Rhône. Dedicated believed Côtes du Rhône in 1990, the appellation covers 1400 hectares of vines. This is the only appellation "Left bank" of the Côtes du Rhône produce AOC wines three colors: red, white and pink. Red wines are fine and delicate, rosés are fruity, and whites are fresh with floral aromas.
Beaumes de Venise is situated in the heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail, in this
extraordinary landscape where vineyards are often perched at 300m above sea-
Châteauneuf du Pape, the most prestigious and most extensive vineyards of the Côtes du Rhône. Extending over more than 3,300 hectares, it is worked by 55 wineries and nearly 300 wine growers. The vines were originally planted by the Popes in the Middle Ages, and have been famous ever since the 18th century. Châteauneuf du Pape became the first officially recognised ‘appellation d’origine contrôlée’ of the Côtes du Rhône in 1936. The red wines of Châteauneuf du Pape are known for their concentration, their power and complexity.
